‘Make It a Family Affair’ Contest

APWU Members:

Is your son or daughter a budding filmmaker or musician?
Perhaps your grandchild is a poet or graphic artist.

If so, this contest is for them. It’s about the importance of the American Postal Workers Union – and unionism – in our lives.

  • Contestants are invited to create an original work expressing this theme in one of the following formats:

  • Video/DVD movie of five minutes or less. Words and/or images must be original.

  • Song (recorded on CD) of five minutes or less. Words and/or Music must be original.

  • Poem – 200 words or less.

  • PowerPoint presentation – 25 slides or less.

Entries must be received by June 30, 2008. Each format will be judged separately.




Custodial Employees to Share in Long-Awaited Remedy
Union Wins $48 Million Settlement In MS-47 Handbook Grievance

APWU News Bulletin #01-2008, Jan. 30, 2007

The APWU and the Postal Service finalized a $48 million payout Jan. 29 to “remedy” the USPS violation of staffing procedures for custodial employees. The settlement will be in the form of lump-sum payments of $2,700 to more than 17,000 employees occupying custodial positions. Payment will be made by April 18, 2008.
